Grieving the Gift

From the day Maddox was born, I knew I wanted to write a book.  I had thought about various topics but what led to me to, "Grieving the Gift was a few months before Maddox turned three years old.  I asked myself, "What type of book did I personally need when I was learning to heal from this?"

The answer became obvious.

During the first two months of Maddox being born, my Amazon account blew up with orders of books about down syndrome, translocations, genetics, development, communication, and the most needed topic of grief.  The grief books came in two forms.  It was either how to deal with the death/loss of a child, or the book presented this new life as sunshines and rainbows in which I felt the authors were lying to me.  I needed a book to grieve, pout, and suffer with me, then teach me how to heal, pick up my pieces, and mold me back together.  This book tells a new mom just how to do those things alongside reading about my personal story.

For my friends, who will read my story, thank you.  For the strangers who will read, please share.  And for the new parents who must learn from my story, I commend you.

On December 31st, 2012 I took the plunge and signed on with AuthorHouse/Penquin Group. On November 10, 2021 it has officially been released!
